We’re approaching the end of the year, so it’s time for reviews and recaps. Like every year, I looked at my statistics to see which articles I wrote during the year were the most read.
I also have to mention that this year was special for me, because my blog celebrated its tenth anniversary. Ten years of writing on my adventures, my travels, and my beautiful hikes! It still seems a little strange to me that my articles are read by so many people.
Like last year, I also made a different list in French and in English, as the most popular stories vary a lot from one language to another (to read the list in French, choose “Français” in the top menu).
I will share my highlights of the year in a few days. But in the meantime, here are the articles you read the most in 2024!
5 – The impressive Blakeney Rapids in Eastern Ontario
I feel like I know Eastern Ontario pretty well, but I had never been to Blakeney before to see the rapids on the Mississippi River. I don’t know why I waited so long to visit this place, because it’s probably where the river is at its most impressive.

4 – Exploring Almonte, one of Ontario’s cutest towns
The only article that is both my French and English Top 5 this year. The village of Almonte is a place I have been to often, and where I like to return, again and again. It is a village full of charm, and I totally understand why many describe it as one of the most beautiful in Ontario.

3 – First time visiting Shenandoah National Park: driving on Skyline Drive and camping at Big Meadows Campground
This year, I was able to visit a place that has been on my bucket list for a long time: Shenandoah National Park in Virginia. This park is one of the most popular national parks in the United States, I can now understand why. Just driving on Skyline Drive was an unforgettable experience. I can’t wait to go back to explore more of its hiking trails!

2 – Exploring Harpers Ferry National Historic Park in West Virginia
Located at the confluence of the Potomac and Shenandoah rivers, Harpers Ferry is a small town classified as a national historic site, but is also a place known for its many hiking trails. It was the perfect place for a stop on our way back from a road trip in the Carolinas.

1 – Hiking and camping at Pilot Mountain State Park in North Carolina
It was our first time camping in North Carolina, and Pilot Mountain State Park ended up being a nice surprise. Not only was the campsite really quiet and spacious, but the hike to the top of Pilot Mountain was also one of my most memorable hikes from the past year.

Thank you again for being so many to read and comment on my articles this year!
